Q: What is the latest on Wawa opening in Collier County?
— Jim Barr, Naples
Q: Are there any current plans for Wawa food market to build in North Naples?
— Joe F., Naples
A: Wawa, the Philadelphia-based convenience store chain with a cultlike following — especially for its made-to-order hoagies, has two locations proposed so far in Collier County. Both are in East Naples.
“We are in the process of permitting two sites in Naples at this point, but we are not far enough along to confirm them or place them on our construction list. We will keep you posted as our plans take shape and as permits are obtained,” said Colleen Labik, a spokeswoman for Wawa Inc. “Because we don’t want to disappoint anyone, we typically do not announce new store locations until construction has begun and all permits are obtained.”
